What a beautiful book! It's almost like a picture book format which makes it an easy and aesthetically pleasing read. The content was so valuable and even if it is a few decades old, the content is timeless. My husband and I enjoyed reading it together nightly. Definitely a page turner.I had to buy this wonderful book used because I could not find it new anywhere, even on Amazon. That is a shame because it is an excellent book for young marrieds to read after the first blush of the wedding has worn off (or before the wedding) and reality sets in. Don't get me wrong, reality is wonderful but there are rough patches in any marriage. We have been married nearly 53 years and we love each other very much. I thank God every day for my husband. But hard times will come. This book will help prepare you for them and get you through them. Marriage is worth it! Do all you can to preserve it. This book, even used, is an excellent shower or wedding gift.The book is fundamental for engaged and/or newlywed couples. It's touches the heart, is concise with great illustrations and beautiful photos. I read an earlier version of this book more than 15 years ago. I've been a big fan of Dr. Dobson since the late 70's when my family, now 6 children, were being born and growing up. My husband and I are in our 38th year of marriage, and "later is most certainly greater" for us. This book helped me through some of the struggles that are "reality" for many committed Christian couples in today's world of high divorce rates. I purchased this book for my daughter's bridal shower, and plan to give it to each of my other children before they marry. I was given this book back in 1988. This book taught me things you never know or think about before you get into a relations, about bonding or getting married. I purchased this book for my son, before he started dating (Prerequisite)! I have purchased at least 30 of these books to give to my family, teens, nieces, neighbor kids, and for those who meant something to us. This book has helped me understand and it brings a lot of info to sight, "before the babies start popping out". Should be must reading before dating and marriage!I recommend this book for each and every engages couple in your life....it helps to bring into the open so many of the issues that a newly married couple will face. This was our "pre-marital counseling" that we did and we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in May. Highly recommended​!It wasn't the right book. I thought it was the full copy of the book not a short daily reminder.Interesting and informative book on a very complex subject. Well written and recommendable for those contemplating the 'plunge'.The book "Love for a Lifetime": Building a Marriage is a wonderful book. My husband and I were given this a a gift 28 years ago . Our son is contemplating Marriage so we are giving him one.This book is a great foundation for every christian couple. I would strongly rcommend it to engaged couples, but also for newlyweds. This book isn't meant to diskriminate women or anything like that. It shows, that only with God and his standards love for a lifetime is possible. God is still the same and always will be!! And his design is perfect for us since he also is our creator.This book is easy to understand for people who's first language is not English, like me. And it makes a great engagement gift!great wedding gift-lots of great principles for newlyweds to build their life on. I highly recommend this book! James Dobson delivers his wonderful insights even with some humorous moments.
