JAN 4th 2016 ADDENDUM: CONCERNING COLORS AND FABRIC!!!Since August 2015 I've purchased every color available on Amazon because I love these pants that much. There have been much confusion over the colors and type of fabrics these pants come in and I will address them both below and in two pictures I have put up in the customer product image gallery section .1- About Fabrics: The thicker fabric version pants are Waterproofed treated. The ALPHA KHAKI ON-THE-GO tags for the thicker pants says 'with WATER REPELLENCY'. The thin fabric version pants don't have this on their tags. The Waterproofed pants will keep your legs, pocket contents and socks dry in a rain shower as the fabric beads water off instead of soaking water thru. Levi's used to make similar Commuter jeans with the same medium-light weight stretchy and waterproofed fabric that were marketed towards bicyclists, commuters and bike messengers. The thicker fabric is not denim-jeans thick as some reviewers have said. It is a medium-light weight khaki thick compared to the light weight fabric pants. Both types of the thicker and thinner fabrics are the exact same 98% cotton with 2% spandex. So the thicker fabric is just as stretchy, moisture wicking and comfortable as the thinner fabric pants. The only difference is the thicker pants will not wrinkle as easy and will feel less smooth under your finger tips even thought the fit and wear-feel is the same. The thicker waterproofed pants are a newer edition to the thinner pants since the Light Buff, Chicory and Olive Moss are the thin-fabric pants that debuted early Spring 2015 while the thicker-fabric Caramel, Bank Red, Burma Grey and Eclipse colors came out in the later Summer 2015.2- About the colors: The image that show orange-red color pants are called 'Mark B/Night Watch Blue' on Amazon but it is not blue at all! In fact they are called 'Bank Red' on the Dockers website and are exactly like the orange-red pants in the pictures. Caramel Khaki and Toasted Cardamon are literally same color.--------->Original Review below:When I tried these on at my local Macy's I thought they would be GREAT hiking pants! They have a stretchy durable water repelling/quick drying fabric, with hidden cargo pockets, hidden draw cords, and zippered back pockets. However once I bought them I realized they were too nice looking to get dirty on the trail so I've been wearing them around town all summer.I got all three colors but the Light Buff is my most worn and favorite of the lot. Simply because it goes with more of the lighter pastel colors that I wear during the summer. The army green and blue grey colors can work in the Autumn, post-Labor Day, season. If you like the traditional rigid cotton Khaki's that fit baggy and loose then you won't like these pants at all. If you wear a lot of slim/skinny jeans and you normally hate Khakis then you would love these. The sad thing is Dockers tend to release a great item and never release them again. So I am back here to buy another one of these in all the colors.Reason being is the thinness of the fabric makes me suspicious that these Alphas On The Go won't last long especially since I'm wearing them every chance I get. They fit really great.Just remember DO NOT wash these like you do your regular cotton Khakis. NO hot water, NO fabric softeners, NO bleach, NO hot dry!!!!Use only ice cold wash with powdered detergents. Don't use fabric softeners and do either a cool tumble dry of a hang line dry to get the best life span out of the fabric. In the past few months I've purchased two pairs of regular Alpha Khakis and one pair of the Alpha on the go pants in Chicory. The two pairs of regular alpha khakis were in 28X30 and the on the go pant was in 28X32. For me the pair of on the go pants in Chicory actually fit slightly tighter in the rise than the two pairs of regular alphas, which fit basically the same. The alpha OTG in Chicory was fairly comfortable if slightly short in the rise, but I decided to take the plunge and by two more pairs for work in the same 28X32 since that length was perfect for work. When I received the two new pairs in Burma Grey, I saw that as expected they're in the new fabric which is more of a stretch chino fabric as compared to the old fabric that the pair in Chicory used which actually feels more papery and thin like a windbreaker. So the material is better. However the fit has changed significantly. The two new pairs are looser in the waist, the seat, the leg and are a longer length than the older pair in chicory. They don't only feel bigger, they are visibly looser. Also the new fabric feels stretchy,in comparison with the pants in the old fabric that although they have 2% elastane, don't feel stretchy, they just have some give when you move. The increased stretchy feel in the new pants leaves me concerned that an already oversized pair of pants might stretch to be even larger. I'll update my review when I've washed them. Hopefully they will shrink down a bit and I won't have to take them to the tailor.ProsNicer feeling Fabric than old version of alpha otgsSeems like less dirt will cling to themWater repellentConsRuns Larger in every dimension than old fabric alpha otgsRuns longer in lengthFabric feels too stretchy, might stretch out of shape quicklyI like the fit, the lightweight fabric, sizing is spot on , the side zip pocket doesn't scream cargo pants yet is there for your IDs/phone. The rear pockets are also zippered. The Light Buff color is more subtle than Safari Beige. I wish they had the "Cloud" (offwhite), "Hurricane", "Ancient stone", "Fog" , or "Gravel" (grays) color for this.Unlike the Dockers Alpha Khaki of a same size (with no zip pockets), the material is much more forgiving flexibility wise , which I assume what the "all-motion comfort" is about. I can actually do a full squat without fabric resistance, the regular Alpha khaki not so much. The fabric has a slight sheen to it possibly from the elastane / "spandex" component to the fabric. One thing I don't like how they come out of the dryer a wrinkled mess. I also own a pair of Dockers Pacific On-The-Go Straight fit khakis that were altered due to the fit. They do not come out of the dryer as ridiculously wrinkly.edit: after several washes it seems to shrink a bit (<0.5"). I wish they weren't tapered as well. Maybe I'm old fashioned. I prefer straight fit.The Oyster Grey color was lighter than I expected. That's where any negatives end.For reference, I'm 5'11, 170 lbs. I normally wear the same size on jeans and sometimes the waist is just a tad big. These pants fit perfectly. The fabric is a bit more technical and flexible than a typical pair of khakis. The result is a pair of pants that are classy enough for a day at work and nearly as comfortable as my Nike Dry Fit running pants. I'm now looking for another pair in a darker color. Too bad I waited this long to but a pair since the On The Go pants are being discontinued.
